1.
I came upon a man Who carried in his hands All of his years at the factory plant At minimum wage through many a stage Of dreams and love and sorrow He asked if I could spare A pair of my walking shoes To help him climb the hills that still Lay in his life Something he could wear To carry all his cares Hold up his iron will A day, maybe tomorrow ...He wanted to lay down He wanted to test the crown I placed myself at his feet And said Whatever you need He said practice what you preach Yes I... Will hold that weight I'll hold that weight for you Yes I... Will hold that weight I'll hold that weight for you . . . I came upon a man Who carried in his fists All of the violence That happened to him Through many a day He locked it away And hardened his flesh like no weapon could prosper They put him in a cage And said it was his fate To rot with the rest But he got out in eight He puts on a mask, now To cover his rage Cause red and blue lights Might look twice And bring the chopper today ...He wanted to break down He wanted to test the crown I said how do we defeat A state That do evil deeds He said practice what you preach Yes I... Will hold that weight I'll hold that weight for you Yes I... Will hold that weight I'll hold that weight for you ... I had ... daydreams Ways of ... freedom What it might be Maybe ... I see Working ways out ** lyrics by Samora Pinderhughes

Kill War 05:06
Hey Hey Haven't you heard It's time to go to war Hey Hey Haven't you heard Time to settle the score What else can I do with all this hate I have inside me What else can I do but kill the things that seem alive Give me a weapon Give me a couple lessons I can't even feel it anymore Who's fighting Who's dying Who's dying for the cause (2x) Hey Hey Haven't you seen Our people on TV They killed one of our sons How do we make them bleed What else can I do with all this rage you put inside me How else can I move but with the lessons you provide Solve my depression Now I'm a lethal weapon I can't even feel it anymore Who's fighting Who's dying Who's dying for the cause Cut out all my thoughts Focus on the gun All the things we bought Lead to things we've done Death is very cheap On the moving screen But you can't feel that loss If you can't feel that touch It's so cold (I feel water in my eyes) Who's fighting Who's dying Who's dying for the cause? ** lyrics by Samora Pinderhughes

(VERSE 1) Blood on your hands don't wash off too easy Even if you lie to the folks when you leave me You can't pretend, You can't pretend That you didn't use those weapons against me You took the bread and left me at the precinct You built a Wall so you won't have to see me You couldn't stare direct at what you did While still enjoying those good benefits (the fruits of tricks) You shot the gun and shook it off easily (You) Forced him to talk while he was still grieving Poured up the language in a glass He drank it down (I) heard the same shit on your TV Come out his mouth You broke my district up into pieces Now I see the cracks all up in your ceilings It's a lotta drama going on in the town And I been around enough to know what's going down Yea (CHORUS) - sung by Lhasa de Sela Soon this space will be too small And I’ll go outside To the huge hillside Where the wild winds blow And the cold stars shine ** (VERSE 2) Blood on my hands don't wash off too easy Even if I got everybody to believe me I left you right on the avenue and then went (on) about my business What is good with all this progress if I had to hurt someone to get it? (I) been so attached to all of these secrets They might just take me over completely I done filled a book and a half up Just tryna give my mind revisions I put my eyes on way too many caskets (I think I done lost my vision) And I don't ever wanna get used to the feeling Of a body when it can't seem to breathe in Did I take advantage of the words I said but never did shit I made an appearance but I made sure I didn't really risk it I'm fuckin tired of all of these meetings, evenings, weekends Drinking and smoking for no reason We can't pretend no We can't pretend Like we don't feel that the world is ending (CHORUS) - sung by Samora Pinderhughes Soon this space will be too small And I’ll go outside To the huge hillside Where the wild winds blow And the cold stars shine **

Promise me I'll be alive, when I leave my home Promise me I'll be alive, when I drive, alone Stoplights could be murder Movements could be murder Conversations be murder Promise me I'll be alive, when I leave my home Promise me I'll be alive, when I drive, alone Stoplights could be murder Movements could be murder Steel bars, and they put a charge on my name Now I think they got me back in chains… If I die before you wake
 I need you to know that
 I was looking forward, To my new job tomorrow But these lights my life they take When I'm on the road back
 I can't stand the sirens,
 I hear them and I know what follows I told myself I won't break They shouted a warning They made up a story They say I resisted, and I might go missing All my momma does is pray
 She'll wake in the morning
 And not be in mourning...
 That's why I just need you to listen! - Promise me I'll be alive, when I leave my home Promise me I'll be alive, when I drive, alone Stoplights could be murder Movements could be murder Conversations be murder Promise me I'll be alive, when I leave my home Promise me I'll be alive, when I drive, alone Stoplights could be murder Movements could be murder Conversations lead to confrontations, Can’t take it no further ** lyrics by Samora Pinderhughes

about

This four-song EP is inspired by the revolutionary energy and artistry of 1960’s songwriters, and looks to reflect the questions and anger that people are feeling during these times of uncertainty and chaos.

Each song directly addresses an issue that we are dealing with in 2020;
It is music for these times we’re in.
